Ramat Gan is one of the main cities in the Tel Aviv District of Israel. It borders Tel Aviv, Kiryat Ono, Givatayim, Givat Shmuel and Bnei Brak. Near the National Park, the Safari, Bar-Ilan University, the Sheba Medical Center (Tel Hashomer) and the Diamond Exchange.
The area of jurisdiction of Ramat Gan is 13,229 dunams. It was established in 1921 as an agricultural colony, recognized as a local council in 1926 and declared a city in 1950. The city is a member of the Forum 15, a forum of cities that do not receive development grants from the state.
